Students from Australian International Academy in Melbourne share their thoughts about learning Arabic and why it is important for them.

This morning we launched the SBS National Languages Competition 2019, encouraging all Australians to embrace language learning.

Now in its fourth year, the competition celebrates the cultural and linguistic diversity of Australia’s multicultural society with the aim of promoting the benefits of multilingualism, including increasing inclusion and helping to retain cultural heritage.

Across the next five weeks, we are encouraging language learners of all ages and any language, including English and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages, to let us know how language learning makes a 'world of difference' to them.
