At high concentrations, lead is a potentially toxic element to humans and most other forms of life. For this reason, there is a need to be concerned about elevated lead levels in the home garden soil where houses were build in the seventies were painted with a mterial that contained lead. Lead can be absorbed by the plants and into the fruits causing harm to the healthy brain development for the children among other health hazards.
