A protester has shot and killed a policeman during demonstrations in Iran, the first reported fatality among security forces struggling to contain unrest challenging the clerical leadership. Iran state TV has confirmed at least 10 people have been killed during the biggest protests since the pro-reform unrest of 2009. Iran's President Hassan Rouhani (roo-hah-nee) has appeared on state television to call for calm, saying Iranians have the right to criticise authorities but should not cause unrest.
