Is this sentence strong enough?

The man who killed the international student Aiia Maasarwe in Melbourne earlier this year, Codey Herrmann, has been sentenced to 36 years in jail. Aiia's father, Saeed, believes that the sentence is not strong enough and would not deter people from committing such crimes.
