Jenolan Caves are under Jenolan National Parks in the Blue Mountains.

Their location is more than two-hour drive from Sydney.

There are around 400 caves, although only 30% of the area has been discovered. Nine main caves are currently open to visitors and tourists.

The caves date back to about 340 million years.

The first time the European settlers discovered them was in 1838, although they were known to the local communities many years earlier.
