Journey of the Youth

Rihlat al-Shabab (Journey of the Youth), made up of new video works from 5 emerging Iraqi-Australian artists, developed as part of Information and Culture Exchange's Iraqi Youth Art Project. The works will be shown at Casula Powerhouse Art Centre in March and Fairfield Museum and Gallery in April. The artworks reflect a nuanced understanding of home with each piece offering a powerful perspective on the fusion of Iraqi and Australian cultures. Provocative, political and relevant, Rihlat al-Shabab (Journey of the Youth) initiates a meaningful intergenerational and intercultural dialogue, inspired from young Iraqi-Australians under 30.
