Many changes will take effect in 2018 in different areas and sectors that will have a wide impact on everyone’s life

We begin with the social security system:

• The New Year will have an increase for many social security payments. The Youth Allowance  will receive $ 4.60 per fortnightly increase, while students will receive $ 8.30 and an additional $ 730 will be received every two weeks. By two dollars and forty cents

This increase, according to the government, is in line with general inflation and will contribute to reducing the cost of life and its costs

• Staying with the social security sector. In 2018, the government will introduce new measures to reduce fraud on the terms of single parent payments to ensure that recipients do not receive money they do not deserve

In the health sector, it will require a prescription or a prescription for painkillers containing codeine. Drugs such as Nurofen Plus, Panadeine, Mersyndol and Codral were obtained without any prescription, which will change next month to reduce the addiction to painkillers that cause the death of 100 people every year

In Australia, 5 million products containing codeine are sold each year and the country will join the 26 countries that prohibit the sale of these products over the counter. The decision was supported by the Australian Medical Association and many health-care associations
