Australians across the country have come together in support of women's rights for the second wave of Women's March events.

It came as millions did the same around the world, including in the United States, where the Women's March movement began last January.

The movement seeks to promote political action by encouraging women to run for office and exercise their right to vote.

The Melbourne event was attended by thousands of women, men and children.

Organiser Melissa Goffin has told S-B-S it's important men continue to engage with such events.
