Paypal is being audited by Australia's financial crime watchdog for compliance with money laundering and counter-terror laws.
The investigation is based on PayPal's reporting of funds transferred in and out of the country.
AUSTRAC'S Chief executive Nicole Rose says Paypal plays an important role in stopping the movement of money to pedophiles and terrorists.
