The federal government's income tax cuts have led 2.9 million Australians to quickly lodge their tax returns - an increase of 460,000 on the same time last year.


Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says more than $3 billion in refunds have so far been provided to taxpayers for the past financial year.

He says these refunds are providing a boost to the economy.
