Morning News: Police investigate new cases of strawberry needles

Victorian police are investigating new cases of needles being found spiked through strawberries.


Two have been reported over the past month - the latest scare involving a punnet bought from a Coles store in Melbourne's northeast on Sunday.

The supermarket giant says it alerted police and is working with its suppliers to implement extra control measures.

David Chapman says his his step-daughter was eating a chocolate-coated strawberry from a birthday cake and was fortunate not to be badly injured.
