The family of four from the Queensland town of Biloela [BILL-oh-EE-luh] are facing deportation back to Sri Lanka.
More than a quarter of a million signatures have been collected for the petition as the family waits in detention before a final court hearing.
A fund-raising website has also attracted more than 99 thousand dollars to support the family.
