Settlement Services International helps refugees artists showcase their work during the annual Refugee Week 2017.


As part of the annual Refugee Week 18-24 June, 107 Creative Hub in Redfern will host Refugees Arts and Culture Festival to give new beginnings to artists from refugee background in Australia.

This festival aims to inspire, challenge, educate and develop creative conversations through a mix of visual arts, films and artistic workshops.

One of the artists participating in the festival is Mr. Sameer Dakhil, who has more than 35 years of experience in metals engraving.Mr. Samir was forced to leave Iraq for safety issues in 2016.

The newly arrived artists and Mr. Sameer will present their work during the refugee week as part of Settlement Services International initiatives the new beginnings: Refugees Arts and Culture Festival.

The exhibition will run from 21 June to 2 July 2017At 107 Projects, 107 Redfern St, Redfern NSW 2016.
