State and territory leaders at Council of Australian Governments meeting have endorsed the fourth stage of the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children.

A national implementation plan, which will be released later this year, will set out initiatives in all states and territories.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the fourth stage of the plan builds on the third that was endorsed in 2016.

Sexual assault, domestic and family violence counselling is available 24-hours a day through 1-800-RESPECT.
