Fibre has always been essential for good health however its benefits go beyond the gut as new studies show it can help prevent serious diseases such as heart disease, blood pressure and brain strokes. Dietitians do encourage people to eat fibre rich foods such as whole grains and vegetables as a balanced diet. Fibre seems to be more beneficial than what's been given credit for.
