Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed two accused murderers from Rwanda were resettled in Australia last year.
Politico reports the men were brought to Australia in November as part of a refugee deal struck with the United States, which was negotiated by Malcolm Turnbull and Barack Obama in 2016.
The Rwandan pair had been in U-S immigration detention after efforts to convict them for murder failed.
Mr Morrison says the two men were cleared by Australian security checks before their resettlement.
But Doctor Wendy Lambourne from the University of Sydney says even if the men didn't commit the crimes they're accused of, the deal is still concerning.
