The Opposition says the Federal Government's decision to cut-off income support for asylum seekers, who have been transferred to Australia from Manus Island and Nauru for medical reasons, is "cruel".

The change will come into effect from today (Mon), with asylum seekers also being given three weeks to find a place to live outside of government-supported accommondation.  Up to 100 asylum seekers on what's called a "final departure Bridging E Visa" will be affected.  Shadow human services minister Linda Burney has told Sky News the Turnbull government has set a new low for its treatment of asylum seekers.
