On the White Ribbon Day, Interview with Sahar Ghali who is a victim of Domestic Violence.

On the White Ribbon Day, Sahar Ghali who is a victim of Domestic Violence speaks about her experience.

Sahar Ghali speaks how anyone from any background or society can face domestic violence. She says that the problem starts with the girls being raised to respect their husbands no matter what they do and to accept violence from them as a sign of loyalty. She also does not consider violence as a physical act only but it could have several aspects such as psychological, financial and emotional.

Sahar admitted that she reached the depression phase when she had suicidal thoughts and that’s when she decided to speak out and put an end to the relationship.  She also transformed her painful experience into a positive way to help others by becoming an activist and creating “Wise Angels” foundation which has a mission to help domestic violence victims.  The whole idea of the organization is that survivals help survivals and they don’t have to be only women because everyone can be subject of violence.
