A 29-year-old man has been arrested at Roxburgh Park in Melbourne for allegedly preparing to travel overseas to take part in hostile activities.

Police and spy agencies have arrested a Melbourne man over suspicions he was planning to travel overseas to engage in hostile activities.

Victoria Police, the Australian Federal Police and the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO), which form the Joint Counter Terrorism Team, conducted Operation Kozjak Thursday morning.

Police said a 29-year-old Roxburgh Park man was arrested at his workplace for allegedly "undertaking preparations to travel overseas to engage in hostile activities".

The man has been charged with Preparations for Incursions into Foreign Countries for Purpose of Engaging in Hostile Activities, contrary to Section 119.4 of the Criminal Code.

The operation is ongoing, however, at this time police do not anticipate further arrests. Officers have assured the community there was no ongoing threat against the Victorian community.

The man will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow:
