Replace outdated 10-year-old smoke alarms with the latest photoelectric smoke alarms. Fire & Rescue NSW recommends the installation of photoelectric smoke alarms. Photoelectric alarms are more advanced and are widely regarded as being superior to ionisation alarms in most circumstances.
