Eyewitnesses in Nauru said that an Afghani detainee in the detention centre on Nauru has attempted suicide on Sunday. They said he tried to harm himself by drinking a pesticide substance and cutting his wrist. The reports said paramedics arrived on site after some time and removed the young man by ambulance to a health facility. This comes as detainees on Nauru are expressing their frustration after a long period in detention and in light of the uncertainty they are facing about their future. Iman Riman asked a detainee on Nauru about these issues.
