The injured girl suffered a laceration to her shoulder in the incident on Wednesday afternoon and has been taken to the Women's and Children's Hospital for treatment.
Her injury is not life-threatening and police are speaking with her alleged attacker, who is also a student at the school.
Police said the incident occurred inside the St Dominic's Priory grounds in North Adelaide and that both students were known to each other.
