The latest Newspoll has found Prime Minister Scott Morrison's net approval rating has descended into negative territory for the first time.
The poll, released on Sunday night and published in The Australian newspaper, suggests the prime minister's honeymoon period is over with the 41 per cent of Australians satisfied with his performance now outnumbered by the 44 per cent of people who are dissatisfied with him.
The Morrison government's numbers also dipped - now a further point back on a two-party-preferred basis to trail Labor 46-54.
Liberal M-P Craig Kelly has told Sky News he expects the polling will shift as the election nears.
