Democrat Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, an American of Palestinian background, was sworn in into Congress wearing the Palestinian thobe, a traditional dress that accentuates her Palestinian identity.

What follows was an international campaign where women wore Palestinian thobes in support of Rashida Tlaib and posted their photos on social media.

Activist Noura Mansour talks about the symbolism of Rashida's action and the importance of winning a seat in Congress as the first woman from Palestinian origin.
