Liberal M-Ps are expected to rally behind Malcolm Turnbull today [[Tues]] as conservatives within the government continue to grumble about the direction of the party


Speaking ahead of Liberal and coalition party room meetings in Canberra today [[Tues]], treasurer Scott Morrison told the A-B-C [[Mon]] he's been assured by leadership hopeful Peter Dutton that the home affairs minister is "fully supportive" of the prime minister.

Former prime minister Tony Abbott is a prominent member of a conservative group of coalition M-Ps that has forced Mr Turnbull to change many aspects of his energy policy.

He's also suspected of agitating for Mr Dutton to assume the leadership.
