Tax Talk: work expenses can you claim in your tax return

Sue Tawadros from the Australian Tax Office, explains the rules that determine the expenses that individuals can claim when preparing their tax returns. She said that there are three golden rules that must be met:

1. Have you spent the money yourself and have not been compensated by your employer?

2. Is it directly related to you earning an income?

3. Do you have a record to prove it?
