The Cartographer’s Curse

The Cartographer’s Curse

The Cartographer’s Curse Source: riversideparramatta

One hundred years ago, with red and blue pencils in hand, British diplomat Mark Sykes and French counterpart François Georges-Picot met over a map and set about drawing borders in very straight lines, dividing the Middle East to suit their respective interests. In a world of shifting borders and alliances we enter the world of our Cartographer and his family. The chaos created by these boundary changes reflects the conflicts in humanity and morality as we witness pride, greed, fear, sacrifice, hubris and idealism. The Cartographers Curse re-imagines history spoken word poetry, and prose parkour movement and qanunic music. Featuring Ludwig El Haddad, Ghassan Hage, Zainab Kadhim, Ali Kadhim, Alissar Gazal and Mohamed Lelo.
