Nine Liberal frontbenchers have offered the prime minister their resignations, following Peter Dutton's failed leadership bid yesterday.

First was Michael Sukkar, stepping down from his office as the minister assisting the treasurer, saying in a statement that "as a matter of integrity" he felt compelled in the wake of the decision to step down.

That resignation was quickly followed by Senator James McGrath, Concetta  Fierravanti-Wells and then law enforcement and cyber security minister Angus Taylor.

Assistant  minister for science, jobs and innovation Senator Zed Seselja   is the most recent minister to tender his resignation.

The A-B-C is reporting human services minister Michael Keenan has also offered to step down from his frontbench role.

It appears Mr Turnbull has accepted Ms Fierravanti-Wells' resignation, but it's understood the prime minister isn't accepting the resignations of other ministers.
