First news bulletin in this morning

The final budget outcome in 2017/18 shows the deficit was $10.1 billion for the year, a $19.3 billion improvement on the original estimate.

The amount of money coming in was $13.4 billion higher than expected, while total spending was almost $7 billion less than forecast.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says stronger than expected economic growth and more Australians in work contributed to the result.
