The federal opposition has continued to put pressure on the government over the increase in private health insurance premiums. Prices have risen, from yesterday (apr 1), by nearly four per cent, meaning people will have to pay between $100 - $200 more on average every year. The Turnbull government says this is one of the lowest increases in recent years. Labor wants to cap these rate rises at 2 per cent. Labor's health spokeswoman Catherine King has told Sky news, the government needs to put consumers first.
