This seminar organised by the ALHSV invites Lebanese village organisations to trace their development and their role in helping immigrants from Lebanese villages settle into Australia. Village organisations often play an important role in helping new arrivals find work or somewhere to live. They also help maintain contacts with the village. In some cases, this involves fund raising for welfare services or other ways of helping the village or origin.
