Sydney Muslim Cyclists (SMC) is a group of people who share the love of cycling and became an official cycling club in November 2014.
Their aims are very straightforward; to bring people to cycling, improve their health and fitness and to help the poor and the needy.
They raised over $100,000 for various charities such as MS Australia, Lifeline and Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind.
The charitable work they do is not limited in Australia, In 2016 SMC cycled from Sydney to Canberra and raised just under $7000 for the disadvantaged people in Syria, Palestine and Burma.
Their events calendar includes Spring Cycle, Bowral Classic, MS Gong Ride, Tumut Cycle Classic and Bobbin Head Cycle Classic.
First Sunday of November 2017 SMC will have about 20 cyclists participating in the MS Gong ride which is a ride from Sydney to Wollongong where about 10,000 participate in to help charities raise money for a good cause.
Sydney Muslim Cyclists is an association which is open for all faiths and cultural backgrounds and looking for a good ride.
The Sydney Muslim Cyclists General Manager Mr. Tarek Sari will tell us more about their club and upcoming events in this interview.
