US soldier convicted with leaking classified documents will likely have her visa denied

only days before her speaking tour in Australia, Chelsea Manning application will likely be rejected and pressure mount on Peter Dutton after visa breaches allegations.


The former US soldier spent seven years behind bars for sending nearly 750,000 classified documents to WikiLeaks.  Chelsea Manning is booked for speaking appearances in both Australia and New Zealand, but her criminal conviction allows Immigration Minister David Coleman to deny her entry.

Peter Greste, the Australian journalist who spent more than a year imprisoned in Egypt for his reporting, was scheduled to interview Ms Manning this weekend.

Mr Greste says he's hopeful there will be last-minute approval.
