More than 60,000 migrants are breaking Australia's visa laws and still live in Australia.

A new government report found that this breach comes mostly from tourists’ visas and students who refuse to leave the country after the end of their allowed period.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs wants to impose stricter restrictions on those who exceed the permissible period.

"Temporary visitors to Australia are willing to risk it because they are getting more money in Australia than they can get in their home country," the report said.

Immigration lawyer Lidia Soliman will tell us more.
