The new premier of New South Wales, Gladys Berejiklian (Beh-ruh-JIK-lee-un) says infrastructure, housing affordability and a strong economy will be the hallmarks of her government. The Australian-Armenian politician has become the state's 45th premier and the state's first female Liberal Premier. She was elected unopposed in a partyroom meeting earlier today , with Dominic Perrottet named as deputy leader. She says she barely spoke English in kindergarten -- and will be forever thankful for the opportunities provided to her through the public school system and the hard work of her parents.
