Australia offers many services and assistance to families with children with special needs. This includes counseling sessions and giving parents day or night breaks, in which childcare specialists are temporarily provided.

A family with a child with special needs seeks to make every effort and money to provide the best possible care for their child. But these efforts may put the family and all its members under great psychological pressure and confine them within a dark circle of exhaustion and despair.

We talk to Samiha Makok Al-Dhaibi, an activist in the field of the rights of people with disabilities. She pointed out that the first step of dealing with the psychological responsibility of caring for a child with special needs is acceptance of the child and dealing positively with the requirements of this child. She pointed out the importance of creating a network of support consisting of family and friends, as well as specialists to seek help when needed
