ZEST Awards: Bankstown youth win with spoken-word poetry

Greater Western Sydney Community Sector celebrated its achievers at ZEST Awards yesterday Wednesday 22 February. The community leading event sets a platform for the great work of the Community Sector across the region to promote a positive image of Greater Western Sydney region by highlighting the assets, the diversity and the creative and innovative work for the common good.


Bankstown Poetry Slam Real Talk won the Outstanding Project Promoting Social Cohesion and Community Harmony Award. REAL TALK project is a series of spoken word workshops that engages young people of diverse backgrounds to use their voice to create positive impacts within their community.

Sara Mansour won Outstanding Youth Leader Award. Sara Mansour is 23 years of age and has exceled in creating and maintaining a vibrant arts and cultural platform for young people in Canterbury Bankstown.
