A US-Bangla airplane crashed at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal on Monday, March 12. It caused the death of at least 50 people, including 26 from Bangladesh. The plane was carrying 71 passengers. A number of injured survivors are undergoing treatment at hospitals in Kathmandu. 36 passengers were from Bangladesh, 33 from Nepal and one each from China and the Maldives.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal Mashfee Binte Shams has said to press, the dead bodies of the Bangladeshi nationals will likely be handed over to their families within the next four or five days.
The national flag of Bangladesh is being hoisted half-mast across the country on Thursday. The nation is observing one-day state mourning with due solemnity in memory of the victims.
All religious institutions and worship places will arrange special prayers on Friday.
To identify the reasons behind this disaster investigation is going on. The cause is yet to find.
