Special counsel appointed in US to investigate Russian connection

The United States Justice Department has appointed a special prosecutor to investigate Russia's alleged involvement in the 2016 presidential election. It will investigate any evidence of coordination between Russia and Donald Trump's presidential campaign. The move comes as Mr Trump has bemoaned the fallout over his latest crises, claiming the media has treated him unfairly.
