Britain is being asked to settle a multibillion-dollar Brexit bill and guarantee protection for Europeans living in the United Kingdom after the formal triggering of its EU departure process. The European Parliament's demands follow the British Prime Minister's invoking of article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, starting a two-year Brexit countdown.
