The federal Treasurer Scott Morrison will deliver his second budget tonight. Among the measures announced in the lead-up are cuts to higher education and university funding, social security and changes to refugee sponsorship. Most recently the government promised to boost funding for the federal police by over 300 million dollars. Some measures that failed to pass the parliament since the controversial 2014 Budget will be abandoned.
