Just as expected, Democrats retook the House of Representative while Republicans increased its grip on Senate, markets basically reacted positively. Some Asian markets took profit , while US risk appetite returned. So our immediate questions are how the markets interpreted this new political landscape in USA, and why. And how likely would they re-position themselves in the months to come? We ask our regular guest, independent economic analyst and strategist, Dr Po Man CHAN, about these questions, he held the view the moderate sell off in Asia was a result of profit taking, and markets would become less volatile as the US mid term election result finally set in.
