What would you order the first time you walked into a Chinese restaurant?

Lemon Chicken? Sweet and Sour Pork? Or fried rice?

For many Australians, these dishes are their first introduction to Chinese food. But if you visit an authentic Chinese restaurant with Chinese friends, you'll quickly realise the menu is nothing like you expected.

In this episode, we're joined by Rory Fagan, who first learned Chinese while studying in Beijing. Together, we'll explore practical Mandarin for ordering food - and the dining culture behind it.
