Melbourne Cup Day as a public holiday has over 135 years of history. It's often regarded as the race that stops the nation.


So what is it so special about this Race at 3:00 pm Melbourne time? Why would it attract the best of the best breeds over the world to participate for that particular race?  And why it is also called "The Hat and Fashion Day" as well.
