墨爾本《年代報》引述報告指，在2008年至2013年，因為臨休護理不足、錯誤解讀檢查報告，和延遲決定剖腹生產等因素，涉及281宗嬰兒死亡個案。
報告指，部分個案對母嬰的個別情況關注不足。
有小部分死亡個案，與家人疏忽和妄顧安全有關，例如未有準時覆診。
負責領導調查的婦產科專家奧迪斯(Jeremy Oats)強調，這些因素與死亡個案有關，令人關注，但並不一定是致死原因，認為部分死亡個案是可以避免的。
維州衛生廳表示，重視報告內容，並會成立委員會專責調查維州所有嬰兒死亡個案，包括小產和新生嬰兒夭折。
