最新調查指，墨爾本最危險車站頭七位包括 Flinders Street、Box Hill 和 Footscray。

女權組織 Free to Be 在去年 10 月至 12 月間，調查女性 (包括未成年少女) 在墨爾本公共空間所遭遇的正面和負面事件。蒙納殊大學研究 1300 個回應和 600 個留言，公布墨爾本女性感到最不安全的火車站。

最多負評的火車站排名為：

2. Richmond

3. Brunswick

4. Box Hill

5. Footscray

6. Jewell

7. Jacana.

有女性留言指，曾被人截住和跟縱，嚴重的包括非禮和強姦，72%投訴為 30 歲以下的女性。

Plan International Australia 行政總裁 Susanne Legena 表示，澳洲達四分一女性感到晚上獨自一人在路上不安全。

女性認為較安全的車站包括 Melbourne Central、Hawksburn 和 Southern Cross。
