農曆新年期間，燃放爆竹在澳洲華人社區仍是一個極具象徵義意的活動，但鑑於今年澳洲林火肆虐，有華人商會領袖呼籲，澳洲商戶儘量避免於農曆新年活動中燃放爆竹，並呼籲商戶將預算用作購買爆竹的錢，捐給消防機構以協助對方的搣火工作。澳洲商戶是否支持此建議呢？
