Australian Croat to be deported to Croatia, a country she has not visited in 50 years

Mirjana Carić's visa has been automatically cancelled at the end of her latest prison sentence and she is facing deportation. She is a a convicted drug offender. Ms Carić has not been to Croatia since 1968 when she arrrived in Australia, as a two year old. She is not citizen of Australia, but, according to her family, she has not got Croatian citizenship either. Jason Donnelly a barister and migration law specalist says the number of cases of people being stripped of their visas has risen significantly since changes to the Migration Act were made.
