Tania Soldo Murphy, a young mother from South Australia was unable to find a bone marrow donator in part due to her specific, mixed ethnicity (Croatian/British Isles). Australias bone marrow donors do not reflect the ethnic diversity of the population and ethnicity is one of the main factors in bone marrow matching. Tania and her friends who set up the Facebook page "Find Tan a Donor" are calling any person with mixed Balkan/British Isles heritage to register on the donor list, not only to help her find a match, but to help those with similar heritage who might need a donor in the future.
