International aid has finally reached three besieged Syrian towns where thousands of people are trapped. Madaya, near the Lebanese border, has been blockaded by pro-Syrian government forces for the past six months. And the Shiite villages of al-Foua and Kefraya in the northwest of the country have been under siege by rebels seeking to oust President Bashar al-Assad. The Red Cross says food and medical supplies have reached the towns as part of an agreement between the warring sides in Syria.
